“Heartbeat”

A woman on the run stops at a hotel for the night and begins to experience strange sights and sounds.

Director's statement

While I was writing Heartbeat, there were a few times where I was considering running away, exactly like the main character in the film. We don't always have a clear answer for wanting to get away. Sometimes that fear and confusion comes from inside, and sometimes it's the space around you that makes it hard to recognize yourself. My goal was to put the audience in her headspace as much as possible; my hope is that they'll recognize a little bit of themselves in her and feel some comfort. I know I do.
